Poem Written in Response to a WE TV Commercial with So Many Beautiful Dead Women

Limbs splayed and hair
fanned, the lifeless icing
on someone’s stale cake.
We’ve all had that fantasy.
You could do anything
with that girl. So do it
for the manicured mommy
left behind in a back alley.
Margaritas & a pre-bloat
bikini body in the Jacuzzi,
keeping the rooftop view
real pretty. Cops hovering
at the sidelines, burly aesthetes
memorizing the bare thighs
of the angels. Do you like
your murder served straight
up or poolside? Fortunately
you don’t have to decide.
